Most adults need more than just a will. A complete starter plan includes a will (for after death), a healthcare directive (for medical decisions when you can't speak), a financial power of attorney (for money decisions when you can't act), and a HIPAA authorization (so the people you trust can access your medical records). Buying them piecemeal works; bundling saves money and a lot of repeated questionnaires.

Last Will & Testament
State-specific, witness-attested will. Names executor, guardians, beneficiaries, residuary distribution. Same document as our standalone Will product.
Advance Healthcare Directive
Living will + healthcare power of attorney. Treatment preferences, named healthcare agent, alternate. Statutory short-form per state where available.
Durable Financial Power of Attorney
Authorizes your agent to handle banking, real estate, taxes, and government benefits if you can't. Durable means it stays in force during incapacity.
HIPAA Authorization
Lets your healthcare agent (and named family) access your medical records. Without one, hospitals can't share status — even with a spouse.

Pricing accurate as of April 2026. We're intentionally between LegalZoom (cheaper but uses generic templates with state add-ons) and Trust & Will (similar quality, slightly more expensive). FreeWill is donor-funded — possible because nonprofits sponsor each will.
Why bundled
One questionnaire, four documents.
The questions for each document overlap heavily. Your healthcare agent is often the same person as your financial agent. Your beneficiaries on the will inform your HIPAA authorization. Asking them all once, in one flow, takes about 30 minutes — versus 60-90 minutes if you do each separately.
The bundle pricing (~$50 below piecemeal) reflects this efficiency. We're not doubling our work; you shouldn't pay as if we are.
